Alpha 11 – What About The Church?

Session Plan

Hospitality to be set up before we start
Introduce any new guests, ask them how they came to be at Alpha. Pass around the registration list. Add any new names and contact details.
Ask them, ‘Can anyone remember the name of the video from last week?’ (Answer: ‘Does God Heal Today?’)
Ask them, ‘Are there any testimonies?’
Remind them of some interesting points said in last week’s video/group discussion, for example, in the video:-
- God wants to use us to heal others
- We tell people about The Gospel and heal the sick. We do this by simply praying for them with love, compassion and faith.
- Typically Chirstian’s :-
  - Lay hands-on.
  - Ask The Father.
  - Invite The Holy Spirit to come.
  - And ask that the healing is done in the name of Jesus (authority of).

Go around the group asking each person to summarize what they have learned and experienced over the past eleven sessions. (Try to start with the most open/positive person).
Optional -> What comes to mind when you hear the words “church” or “Christian”?
Optional -> Look back on the last eleven sessions. Has your view changed?
Optional -> Looking forward, in what way (if any) do you plan to continue what you’ve started in Alpha?
Ask the group what they would like to do after Alpha. Try to encourage them to stay connected as a group.
Ask each of them if there is anything they would like prayer for.
Pray—it’s a good idea to finish the final session with prayer.
